Our Story
It all started in Slemani, over a simple cup of tea. We talked about something we felt was missing: a place that truly felt like home. A place where the flavors, memories, and traditions we grew up with could meet the fresh and modern tastes of today. A place where everyone — no matter where they come from — would feel welcome. That conversation became the beginning of Kurdila.
Choosing the right name mattered to us. We wanted something honest and connected to who we are. Kurd represents our people, our heritage, and the land we come from. Ila means "to" or "towards" in Kurdish — a simple word that expresses movement, direction, and purpose. Together, Kurdila means "towards Kurdistan" — a name that reflects our roots, our identity, and our wish to share a piece of our culture with everyone who walks through our doors.
From the very beginning, we wanted to create more than just a café. We wanted to create a meeting place. A place where you can step inside and instantly feel calm and welcome. A place where traditional Kurdish flavors live side by side with fresh, modern dishes. We spent months experimenting, tasting, adjusting, and improving. We combined acai, fruit, and freshness with homemade tea cakes and flavors inspired by our culture. Step by step, the vision of Kurdila took shape — a blend of what we love from our past and what inspires us today.
Today, Kurdila is the place we once dreamed about. A place where people meet, study, work, laugh, and share moments. Here, tradition finds a new expression. Here, every dish is made with care, warmth, and authenticity. Every guest who walks in becomes part of our story. You are the reason our journey continues. A place built on roots, warmth, and community — and a story we are proud to share with you.
